Good morning! I’m just seeing your show on TV right now. I started receiving AISH benefits in 2018 or 2019. I have fibromyalgia and lower back problems. The fibromyalgia and anxiety and depression is what is making my life very painful. Last November I got married and so AISH cut me off because they say my husband makes too much money. That for me, took away my independence and my security. I still can’t work more than 16 to 20 hours per week. If anything should happen to him where does that leave me? Or if anything should happen to the relationship, where does that leave me.? Why do I have to be lumped in with my husband just to receive a benefit for a disability that I have? I’ve had a hard time excepting my disability, and so at one point I did go back to work in camp up north for about eight months but my body could no longer handle it. Then I spent a couple of months in bed when I wasn’t working 16 hours a week at a taco place. After I got married, I had to move from the city to a small town in Alberta where my husband owned a house at the time. So, I applied for unemployment and had a struggle to get it. Then I did get it and received a few checks, but I was still looking for work as they require. I got a job at Subway, and worked there for three days, but my body couldn’t handle it because of too much twisting and bending in a tiny space. So I quit that one and got a job the following week at a restaurant as a waitress. So unemployment cut me off because they said that I didn’t go get a doctors note to show that that job wasn’t suitable for me. Instead, I just went and got another job so I didn’t follow their policy. So that’s money lost for me that I had worked And put into the benefits. I know I’m so frustrated. I’m almost 56 years old and waitressing is not going to work well for my body long-term. So I am signing up to become an aesthetician, paying for this course myself. So that I can work in a Spa at a slower rate, and hopefully at a job that is more conducive to wellness. Is there anything you can do to either get my unemployment, benefits, reinstated, or, my AISH reinstated? Please let me know. Hope you have a great day. Merry Christmas
