I have low vision and have had it my whole life. My TL / Manager is asking for me to arrange a callback. I have been on LTD for 3 monthes due to cancer. I suspect they want me to return immediately. This cancer has been diagnosed between stage 3 and 4. I went through chemo up until August.
Right now, there is no cancer on the tests. The issue being is that my open surgery touched on 5 different organ areas. I need to still heal on the inside of the surgical area, learning to eat in small amounts frequently during the day, vitamin loss, peripheral neuropathy, vision and hearing impairment, dizziness and brain fog to name a few. I am not ready to go back. I understood that the employer should not be reaching out to employee directly on LTD. Also, I am very sure that the phone conversation will be recorded when I eventually speak to them. I want to be armed with information before the convo.
You're correct that the employer generally shouldn't be reaching out to you regarding work related reasons, however, communication is allowed in some circumstances. They can, for example, ask for updates about your timeline for a return to work or any accommodations that you may need, and you should ensure that you are not avoiding communication with the employer completely.
