I have been on LTD since leave since March 2022 and collecting insurance payments since July 2022 as I have long covid. The insurance company is sending me for a IME (case manager said its so we can get a baseline of your functioning) and friends have offerred to step in and help be an advote when I need to speak to the insurance company case manager as I get easily confused, cant respond to quips that are made in time and feel defenless. One of my advocates has completed a few lengthy documents (1. a comparision of my weekday pre/post covid / Weekend pre/post timeline showing my daily routines) and 2. a lengthy document identifying my symptoms under physical, mental, emtoianal categories. My friend that completed all this work has also written a cover page declaring that she has written the above mentioned items via interviews with me, my notes and also conversations so people do not think I could create this document as currently its not in my capability. Question: It has been suggested that I give this information to the IME (I am being sent for a nueropsycholigcal assessment) and later this month send a copy to the case manager. I have already given a copy to my GP, Occupational therapist, physiotherapist. Do you feel providing these lengthy documents will help either the IME or case manager? I will be referring to the documents during my IME as my memory, ability to concentrate and brain fog make it extremely hard to remember, PS. Your website, youtube videos and all the information has been so appreciave it has made me cry.
I have 2 questions towards the very end of the following long message. Thank you in advance. Got covid end of May 2022. During gradual return to work in the summer got a much worse virus symptom wise. Diagnosed with long haul covid. All supported by short term... For my last week of gradual return to work in September the long term company took over and eventually approved the subsidized hours. From there was FT till the second week of December. Despite zero responsibilities outside of work was missing consistent hours during September to December simply just to sleep even more. Then towards end of first week of December got sick, tried to push through but only got 1-2 hours into each shift for a couple days and ended up in the emergency room on the third day. Although I had been back to work for 3 months at this point and initially talked to short term, long term felt it was a continuation of the past issues and took over the case. Likely the correct decision because my long haul covid symptoms have been much worse since. Now almost 4 months later and an initial decline the insurance company is sitting on all the supported and up to date notes as well as the hospital records. What feels like many delay and distraction tactics to lead to this point they are now asking for notes re a very temporary physical injury from last summer (that caused my to miss a few work days completely) which is not only from before they started dealing with me for that one brief partial hours week in September, but also completely irrelevant to my case and why I'm unable to work right now. Can they ask for that? Well of course they can ask but should I even provide that when it's totally irrelevant? They also want all "clinical records" since end of May last year. Should I provide that? (When they already have sooo much info/notes/records and thorough recent support letter from my Doctor clearly stating I am unable to work due to fatigue symptoms etc due to multi viruses since getting covid/long covid.
