I have been on LTD for over two years. My employer has never been in contact with me but sent a letter advising they need medical evidence and what they are to do in regards to my situation as it has been over two years. I sent back the information they requested by my doctor which stated I am to be off for another 6 months. They replied advising they will be in touch. My question is can they terminate me even though I have been with this company for almost 23 years and if they can am I entitled to a severance/compensation etc and what amount would I be looking at if that is the case.

Your employer can generally end your employment at any time, but you may be owed severance or human rights damages based on the facts of your matter.
If you are non-unionized, and you do get terminated or want to discuss this further, please contact our employment team at 1-855-821-5900. If you are unionized, you will need to speak with your union representatives for any employment related concerns.
