I'm currently on LTD and I was wondering, once I'm ready for a gradual return to work, do I have to return to the same organization/position? Also, if I do a gradual return to work and my current employer fires me once I'm back what do I do?

Generally, your employer has the duty to return to you a same or similar position once you're back from medical leave. if you're terminated for any reason, and you're non-unionized, please contact our employment team ASAP at 1-855-821-5900, and do not sign anything until you speak with a lawyer. If you are unionized, you will need to speak with your union representative for assistance.
Additionally, please don't hesitate to contact us again if you have any further questions about your LTD benefits, or your insurer tries to force you back to work against medical advice. We will help.
