My step daughter lives in Edmonton Alberta she has progressive MS she is 44 and has been approved for AISH approx $1700 per month however her expenses are much HIGHER ie mortgage/medical/special needs $3000 per month, what are her options?

I'm very sorry to read about her condition.

If she has an LTD policy with an insurance company, she should apply right away.

Aside from that, she can read about certain other provincial and federal government assistance programs that may be available to her on our website, at: https://stlawyers.ca/disability-law/faq/government-income-support-programs/ (not an exhaustive list).

She should also speak to her GP/family doctor about what government assistance programs she may qualify for - they are a great resource.
