I am on STD which finishes right away, I was told by my worker that i should be on LTD however now it seems they have changed their minds and are trying to back out. They are now wanting me to see a rehabilitation specialist for back to work questions. My dr signed off on my LTD forms. How should I proceed?

Generally, insurers do have a right to ask that you answer questions or attend assessments/examinations to assess your eligibility for benefits. However, it's most important that you are following your doctors recommendations. If the insurer tries to use this rehab specialist to send you back to work, but your doctor doesn't think you're ready, please call us ASAP and we'll help. If you have further questions, I recommend reaching out to our Disability Specialist, Rebecca, at rebecca.stap@stlawyers.ca, for more information (at no charge)
