Ask your question and a Long-term Disability Lawyer in Canada will answer in minutes
My short term disability is over and now long-term. Disability has kicked in. However, long-term disability Insurance Company has not approved me as of yet. They phone me and want to schedule a phone interview for 20 minutes. They told me. I'm Confused and puzzled. Why do they want to talk to me on the phone? because my doctor has written to them. Saying that I am not able to return to work. However, the Insurance Company wants to talk to me on the phone Without getting anything in the mail approving me yet. Are there trying to deny my claim? Or is this standard procedure? As I mentioned, my short-term has finish and now long-term has to take Uber. I'm worried if they're trying to find a way out of not covering me. Talking to me on the phone. I'm not sure if I should be doing that with them.
It's not unusual for them to request to speak with you by phone. The reality is that if you are in fact unable to work and your doctor supports you being off work then your LTD insurer should approve you. I understand that this is creating a lot of anxiety for you but if, for whatever reason, they deny your claim, let us know immediately and we will help. We are not going to let them get away with not paying you when they should. Our contact information is below, if you need it.
