I'm on short-term disability for 3 weeks and my employer is asking for an attending practitioners progress report for mental health rather than a regular attending practitioner report do I have to comply

It is difficult to answer your question without knowing the contents of the medical documents provided to your employer already, and the difference between the report your employer has requested and the report you think is more appropriate. As a general rule, the employer is not entitled to receive information about your diagnosis and treatment plan, but it can request particulars about the specific symptoms/impairments that prevent you from working, as well as your prognosis. If you are concerned that the company is requesting medical information that it should not have, please contact us at the number to book an appointment below to discuss the specifics of your situation.
