Can I return to work after being on long-term disability for six years? I work in healthcare. My union is HEU.

If you and your doctors believe that you're ready to try to return to work, and you're still employed, you can request a graduated return to work program. However, because you're in a union, if there are any disputes related to employment matters, including return to work plans, they must be dealt with by the union, as opposed to private counsel.

That said, we may be able to handle your LTD claim, if you are ever cut-off/denied.
