Question about what to disclose to insurance companies and why they want to know about self-employed or other income not related to my job.

Since Jan 10, 2022, I have been waiting for Amazon to call me back with my physician's work restrictions. They told me that they could not accommodate me with my present medical limits and I had to get a new one with my physician. Then they called me back for Nov 11th and 12,2024 only to tell me to take LOA again till Jan 10th, 2025. I am applying for STD and they want to know about person income not related to my job at Amazon. I have a RE license that is parked once more that I happened to use this year and I was paid commission in July after the sale closed. Can the insurance company decline my claim based on the fact that I have a license in another field? I am nervous about just telling them this without an explanation. I do not earn regular income from this. Should I pursue an STD at all? They also want to know about my Term Life insurance policy which also happens to be with the same Can Life Ins through an insurance brokerage.
Would I qualify for any payments while I was waiting for my employer to recall me with work restrictions for the past 22 months or so?

Typically, the insurer does have a right to review income information, however, if you're unsure, you can ask your case manager, in writing, where in the policy it states they have the right to ask. If it's in the policy, and you refuse to provide it, then they would likely deny a claim.
If you are able to work with accommodations and your employer is unwilling to accommodate you, I recommend speaking with one of our employment lawyers ASAP to see if there's anything they can do to help you. Please give them a call at 1-855-821-5900
