I am in the process of applying for disability in April/2023 I pinched all the nerves in my lower back my doctor filled out my forms for the CPP disability when he filled out the part of me returning to work he put 12/24 months with modified work but in my job which I am a server which I have been doing for 38 yrs there is no modified work its either you come back or you do not by him saying that maybe in 12/24 months I may return back will this disqualify me from getting the disability either the CPP or the Ontario disability my doctor also did put this is likely to deteriorate recurrent
It may disqualify you from CPP Disability (“CPPD”) since to qualify for CPPD you have to show that your disability is “serious” and “prolonged”. If your doctor opined that you can work modified duties and possibly be able to return to work on a defined date, that could be interpreted by CPPD as not being a “serious” and “prolonged” disability.
