I am off sick from my employer and have been there over 13 years seniority.
I was on short term disability but not eligible to go on ltd since they say I am not eligible as they say I am too old. This has left me without income and I am not eligible for welfare as I am still employed.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. You can ask for a copy of your LTD policy to confirm if there are such age limitations. Often, benefits end at age 65, but each policy is different. You also may be eligible for government support benefits, which you can read about on our website https://stlawyers.ca/disability-law/faq/government-income-support-programs/ ( although not an exhaustive list)
