My LTD is nearing its end in a few months. Hoping with my doctors advise to return to work and see how I do and if I can handle it. What is the process of returning to work? Does my insurance company contact me (and when) about returning to work? And who informs my employer and how much notice do they need to receive?

Great question. I recommend reviewing this document we created about the return to work process - https://stlawyers.ca/disability-law/faq/return-to-work-long-term-disability/

Typically, your doctors would provide their support to the insurer that you can return. Your insurer would then contact your employer about the required accommodations and determine if they're able to met such. They also may discuss with you and your employer a gradual return plan to get you up to full time hours.

Ultimately, it's important to follow what your doctors recommend. If you run into any issues, call us immediately (our phone number below)
