Does long term disability end when you turn 65?
would i qualify for benefits knowing i am on the list for a heart transplant?

Most LTD policies do end at age 65, but not all of them. You should get a copy of your specific policy to check.

Qualifying for benefits depends on whether you pass the "total disability" test in your policy. Typically, for the first period of potential entitlement (usually the first two years), the test asks whether, from a medical perspective, you can do the duties of your own occupation. So, if your symptoms prevent you from being able to do the duties of your own occupation, you should pass the test (unless otherwise excluded). (And the test usually changes at the two-year mark, then asking whether you can do the duties of any occupation for which you are trained by education or experience, which pays a commensurate amount to your pre-disability salary.)

But again, the tests in your specific policy may differ from this, so you should get a copy of your policy and have a look at the tests.

That said, if you have serious heart issues such that you require a transplant, I would think it rather likely that you should be approved for benefits; but I would have to speak with you and review your file to give you an actual opinion on that.
