Ask your question and a Long-term Disability Lawyer in Canada will answer in minutes
I am on a Long-term Disability claim. It ends at the end of July 2024. I am working with my insurance and an OT my insurance sent me to. My goal is to return to work but my doctor and OT are requesting accommodations. My employer is telling my insurance no, that the requests do not meet their operational needs. However I have work colleagues who have medical accommodations and the employer is accommodating them. Where are my rights in this? Does my employer have to accommodate? Also, my insurance is not communicating with me in regards to what is happening, what my official return to work date is, and my doctor has not seen or agreed with my GRTW plan. What can or should I do?
You're right that your employer generally does need to accommodate you. This is something they should be doing, and if they don't, you may have a claim against them. If you are non-unionized, please contact our employment team ASAP at 1-855-821-5900 to discuss your options.
