I have been on long-term disability and Canada pension disability together for over 10 years recently my wheelchair has broken and I asked my insurance company to repair it the batteries have gone they replied back they are not going to cover the repair at this point it's quite frustrating I'm worried that they are slowly trying to cut my benefits they approved the purchase of the wheelchair before I looked at the contract they are supposed to cover it all these years have gone by and now they're not covering my wheelchair they're not following the contract for disability injured employee can my company release me and what happens to my benefits with medications and equipment I need as I am paralyzed from my injury they have been paying me but now all of a sudden they've turned another chapter by not covering my wheelchair I'm worried about my benefits medications and other benefits and if my company decides to release me I know it's 65 they can release me but I still am collecting my long-term disability as I've been deemed totally disabled I'm not able to do any job but the wheelchair is the problem here why are they denying it they're supposed to replace it
Unfortunately, to determine whether your insurer is responsible for paying for your wheelchair repairs, I would need to see the terms of your specific policy. You could start by asking them for the relevant terms of the policy they're relying on in denying your request.
