Ask your question and a Long-term Disability Lawyer in Canada will answer in minutes
I have been on long-term disability for the last 8 years my long-term disability insurance company wants me to fill out a questionnaire they are telling me it's going to improve their way of documenting my claim. I feel this is quite suspect in nature because I have been permanently disabled for the last 8 years why am I all of a sudden getting a questionnaire to fill out I called them and told them, is this something that my doctor should fill out, they told me no it's not this is something they're rolling out they want me to fill it out not my doctor again this is quite bizarre. Why wouldn't my doctor fill this out .for some reason they don't want him filling it out they want me to fill it out.... First time I've ever gotten a questionnaire they want me to do...
I would need to see the questionnaire in order to determine if the questions therein are appropriate for you to answer. That said, in my experience, it is not unusual for an insurer to ask an insured questions in one form or another, in order to get updates on their medical issues. Your policy will likely speak, at least to some degree, to the rights of the insurer and your duties as an insured, and those terms may touch on your situation.
