I was on a leave of absence from work for 4 months due to a medical condition. I returned to work part-time. I am considering applying to our LTD for top up of wage loss because I do not foresee that I will be returning to my previous hours of work. I have done this before 11 years ago, went from 5 to 4 days but didn’t know about applying to LTD for wage loss. Now I have gone down to 3 days. The diagnosis is fibromyalgia, and I am wondering if there is anything I should be aware of prior to the process, rather than waiting to consult someone only if I am unsuccessful? I am concerned that they may argue that I did not do it earlier and because fibromyalgia is a type of medical condition that is difficult to identify and many with the condition have various levels of wellness.

I'm going to email you about this directly.
