I have been on LTD since January 2021. In January 2023 I was approved to continue benefits past the 2 yr mark, under the change of definition. Sunlife has instructed that I apply for CPPD, which I have done. I’m still waiting for a response from CPP. I am on leave for major depression, anxiety, childhood ptsd and rheumatoid arthritis. I have been employed at the same firm for 31 years and have never had a claim before.
1) what should I expect if CPP denies my application for CPPD? Is it likely that Sunlife will discontinue my claim?
2) since I’ve been under the change of definition I no longer have an assigned adjudicator. Is this normal practice? Why have they not assigned one?
3) can I request a copy of the information that Sunlife has provided to my employer?
4) how often should I expect to be contacted by Sunlife in the future?

I'm going to email you directly.
