I am on LTD and my insurance company sent a medical form for my doctor to complete to confirm I am still eligible for LTD.
On the form it says the insured is responsible for the costs associated with completing the form.
If I am to be responsible for these costs would it be reasonable for me to ask them where in the policy this is stated? Or should is this something I should just pay for?
Thank you
Generally, unfortunately, there is no obligation for your insurer to pay for the doctors notes, unless your policy states that they have too. You may be able to ask your insurer if you can provide authorization for them to speak directly to your doctors, in which case they would generally pay for the notes directly. Otherwise, it's often in your best interest to pay upon request to ensure there's no interruption in your benefits.
