My husband is on long term disability for mental health and we have been invited to a wedding. He rarely goes out and I would like for the two of us to attend, but he does not really want to go and is worried this could affect his LTD. Should he let the insurer know? Is it ok to attend a special event?

Your husband should absolutely be entitled to attend a wedding.
If it is out of province or country, his LTD policy may have limitations to him receiving benefits if he's gone for a specific duration (often 30 + days), but you can review the LTD policy to know for sure. if you have further questions or concerns, please reach out to our Disability Specialist, Rebecca, at 1-844-661-9065 x132 or rebecca.stap@stlawyers.ca and she will discuss further.
