My husband was cut off long term disability through insurance at company. Hired lawyer was payed out and told there was nothing for him at the company to do light duties or other. Turned 65 January 17 2024. He has been on unpaid sick leave since 2004. Lawyer helped to get CPP. Called to see if entitled to severance pay and because there is a union labour board can't help. I am writing to you on behalf of my husband.
Unfortunately, if he's in a union, he'll need to go through the union to fight for severance. We're not allowed to get involved when the claimant's in a union.
