Your firm has said that because I am part of a union and need them to give the ok for me to get a lawyer.

When you're in a union, your collective agreement will typically require that certain disputes be grieved/taken to arbitration, instead of being handled in the courts. Depending on the terms of your specific collective agreement, LTD may or may not be one of those disputes.

If you have an LTD claim, and you're unsure whether it has to be handled by your union or not, you should contact our firm right away to set-up a free consultation. We may very well be able to handle the case for you.
