My employer is denying me severance because my first work day was 88 days ago but my hire date was 95 days ago. I signed a 90 day probation form saying after 90 days I’ll receive severance. As far as I know it’s from date of hire. Am I entitled to severance?

Thanks for writing. I hate to move you around from one place to another, but you’ve actually connected to our LTD department, as opposed to our employment team – and this would really be an employment matter.

I recommend using our free employment questions website (www.terminationquestions.com) as a starting point.

If you still have further questions, and you’re non-unionized, please let me know and I’ll connect you with our intake team to assess further. If you are unionized, you’ll need to speak with your union representatives.
