Hi, My disability is running out next month (September). I was off work due to both shoulders being injured. I had shoulder surgery in June 2023, but am still having ongoing issues with that shoulder. I am unable to do my regular job (sort and deliver mail), due to the ongoing pain that I am having. I have wanted to work for almost the entire time I have been on disability (almost 2 years), minus the 6-9 months following surgery. My employer (Canada Post) keeps telling us they have no work for me, with the restrictions I have. Kind of ticks me off because my shoulders got a lot worse from doing that job, plus, I had a fall down some stairs which didn't help. I am currently waiting for an appointment with another Orthopedic surgeon for a 2nd opinion.
My question is, am I going to be forced to resign next month if they won't accommodate me? I know I'll be in tremendous pain if I try to go back without any accommodations.
Thanks, Lee
