I have been on disability from my government job for 5 years - on LTD for 3. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and I'd like to know if there are any restrictions with LTD and pregnancy. I have been cleared for pregnancy by my doctor, but my medical condition will remain the same during/after pregnancy.

You should check your LTD policy as this outlines your rights while on LTD. If you don't have a copy, you can ask your case manager for it. Most policies state that benefits are suspended if you receive any sort of maternity EI benefit. Also, to the extent that it's possible, you will need to continue to see your doctors regularly and continue with treatment.
