I'm on Disability through my Employer and also on CPP Disability. I don't think the Insurance Company is paying me enough money. The annual salary on which my benefits based on is $9763.87 or yearly $117,166.44 yearly. My T4 for the year 2019 was $142,000.00. I went on short term in Nov 2014.
Unfortunately, in order to do a proper analysis of whether they have calculated your benefit correctly, we would need to see your LTD claims file, your policy, and your financial records. That said, you could start by asking them to show how they've done their calculations. Once you have that, in writing, you may be in a better position to see whether there's been an error. (Your question is also a bit confusing, since you state that you went off in 2014, but that your T4 salary in 2019 was $142,000.)
Sometimes errors happen (either on the part of the insurer, or by the employer when reporting your salary to them); but sometimes there are valid explanations for the discrepancies. For example, perhaps only your base-salary was insured, and part of your overall salary comes from bonuses and/or commissions.
You may also want to consider applying for the Disability Tax Credit at: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/segments/tax-credits-deductions-persons-disabilities/disability-tax-credit.html. If approved, you may get a tax-break, which could also result in a retroactive lump-sum payout.
