I have been diagnosied with PTSD, mood disorder, anxiety and depression and have been off work for nearly 3 years. Recently my LTD claim went into Long Duration and I was asked to apply for CPP disability. If I do get CPP disability, I realize the insurance company gets the one time retroactive payment from CPP disability, but can the insurance company also clawback any tax benefits I may be entitled to yearly at tax time if I am on CPP disability? Also can being on LTD or CPP disability be jeopradized if I travel on a vacation out of country? My mental health is alway better after a vacation, and I dont want to feel like I am doing something wrong. Lastly, because my disability pay is a lot less than my wages, I feel like I am going to have to downsize to a cheaper house soon. I am wondering if that will cause problems with LTD, and are they entitled to any profit from the sale of my house, because that would defeat the purpose of downsizing and trying to reduce my mortgage. Thanks for your advice.

I'm going to email you about this directly.
