Ask your question and a Long-term Disability Lawyer in Canada will answer in minutes
I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both knees and lower back, as well as COPD.
I have been off since Aug 2022 on LTD, the insurer tells me that the files they see are of a mild diagnosis and they are sending me to a 8 week rehab program and I am expected to return to work shortly after.
My knees and Back are in incredible pain dispite the mild diagnoses.
Anything I can do?
There are absolutely some steps that you can take. You should reach out to your medical team ASAP to get their opinion on the return to work program. If they do not agree with the proposed plan, they should communicate that to your insurer in writing. If your insurer still tries to push you back against medical support, please contact us immediately.
