I asked this question last week and never received a response. Is this website closed now???

Please, I need to know about retroactive pay increases. I had typed this out as a long detailed question but will try again. I was approved for LTD on say January 1, 2022. I did not receive a benefit payment from LTD though as I was still receiving benefits elsewhere even though I was approved. Once the other benefits ended I started receiving LTD payments January 1, 2023.

In January 2024, a new collective agreement was reached but we had been without an agreement for several years and so there was a retroactive pay increase in Feb of 2022. So i was approved for LTD but not receiving LTD until Jan 2023. In the policy booklet, it says you are entitled to retroactive increases before your first benefits are received. It is not typical for people to be approved for LTD but then not receive LTD for a year later. Since I had not received my first benefit payment until January 2023, am I entitled to the retroactive pay increase from Feb 2022?

I'm going to email you about this directly.
