I am on an approved LTD claim and currently on a graduated return to work plan that has plateaued at 4 hours/day; 5 days/week

I am a full time employee topping up my hours with paid sick leave so I am earning my full salary - more than than the LTD maximum so I am not receiving any LTD benefits

As I am only working four hours per day my duties per my GRTW only include a portion of the duties that I would otherwise perform if I was able to work full time hours
My employer wants to hire someone to perform my duties that I cannot currently perform due to me reduced work hours

My ability to return to full time hours is uncertain

Should I be concerned about my job? How can/should I protect my interests?

Unfortunately, there's no way to know with any certainty how the employer would proceed at this time.
I would suggest, however, giving out employment team a call as they would be able to discuss possible outcomes and how those scenarios could impact you. You can reach them at 1-855-821-5900.
If anything changes and you run into any issues with your LTD insurer or benefits, don't hesitate to contact us again and we'll do our best to help.
