I’m on an approved 6 week STD claim for mental health & currently being followed by a physician & MSW for counselling. I took a 2 wk trip to Europe while on STD. My company has suspended my claim & pay, unless I provide proof that I was in Canada and proof I followed up with my physician & counsellor, though I booked both for this coming week as I was away. Does the company have grounds to suspend my pay?

Your STD policy will state whether or not your insurer has an obligation to pay you if you leave the country or province. Often, there are restrictions listed. You can ask them to show you where in your STD policy it states they can do this. If your benefits aren't reinstated now that you're back, please contact us at our phone number below and we'll help
