Add Comment Question: I am have been on LTD (spinal cord injury) for 15 years. 2 years ago they started making changes to my health benefits plan. Can my provider change my health benefits plan (both fee charged +25% increase 2 yrs running, & significantly reduce plan)? Also, how do I ask for a copy of my LTD benefits terms/contract at the time of my LTD claim? I want to know the full terms in detail & when my benefits will end (60 or 65)? Answer: Typically, employers or plan providers do have the right to make changes to their plans, however that shouldn't impact your LTD benefits. If you're unsure, you can ask the administrator of the plan to show you where it states they have the right to change the benefits offered. You can ask your case manager for a copy of the LTD policy in accordance with the Insurance Act, via email. They have a legal right to provide this to you. If you run into any issues with the LTD benefits, please give us a call at the number below and we will help.
