Add Comment Question: I have been on LTD and will be returning to work but in a new position. Because of my injuries I am being accommodated by doing a new job but it pays 25k less per year. I do want to try this job but I am also nervous because of what happens if I cannot work. My work has a 6 month clause in the LTD policy that if the condition comes back or is too much or whatever that you don't have to reapply from the start from LTD to go back on it. But what happens for the wage? Would I now be trying to live off of 50% of the new wage that is already 25k less than before? There is no mention of this in the policy booklet Answer: Your employer generally has the duty to accommodate you in a similar position, so this large pay cut could go against that. I recommend that you give our employment law team a call ASAP to discuss your options at 1-855-821-5900 If you do accept this pay cut, and go on disability again after 6 months, then yes, you're likely to receive LTD benefits based on the new salary Your Comment * Your Email * Your Name * Your City Note, your name, city and email is not displayed on the website.
