Add Comment Question: I am on ltd for six + years. I just got accepted by CPP disability. My insurance will continue to pay me but deduct the cpp amount from my monthly payment. If I was to retire from my workplace (to which I qualify now) the cpp payment would not affect my pension payment. So that would mean that I would have that extra money monthly. Should I cancel ( and how to do-that) my ltd claim and just retire. I am 58 years old. Manulife would most likely pay me until I am 65. Also could I get a cash out from Manulife if I opt out of the ltd before age 65. Answer: Unfortunately, we cannot provide legal advice on what to do in this situation, or the ramifications of any decisions in this format. If you choose to end your LTD relationship, you would simply need to tell the insurer youre retiring and no longer need LTD.
