Add Comment Question: I have been on STD and have recently been switched over to LTD. I have had no issues with the insurance company paying me. However, after switching to LTD the insurance company told me they were going to apply for government benefits on my behalf. Any money awarded by the government would go to the insurance company. The insurance company dragged their feet on submitting the paperwork to the government and my claim was denied. The required paperwork for my appeal was taken care of by myself. I recently received a large lump sum of money from the government. I am worried that the insurance company will want me to send the entire sum to them.
