They withheld telling me about and giving me forms to be filled out by my doctor until the day before my return. As I wait for my first available appointment I am without income. Are they within their rights in doing so? Answer: Employers are often entitled to receive a medical note before accepting your return to work, to determine any restrictions or limitations. While their timing is unfortunate, they're likely still falling within their rights to do so.
