Add Comment Question: Hi there here's my question it's quite complicated and I'm really frustrated I belong to a union I'm on long-term disability approaching the sixth year my long-term disability insurance representative has called me and inform me that he want to find me another job I find this quite odd and devastating that they're going to cut me off my doctor has explain to them I'm not able to do any job or any work as I am completely disabled I called my union it took them three weeks to call me back I must have left them six messages, indicating it's urgent they told me I would have to hire my own lawyer I had to ask them twice when I called them back they said the same thing I would have to hire my own lawyer if they were to cut me off I asked the Union to put it in writing and they did my specialist doctor as written to the insurance company explaining to them that I am totally disabled my question is why is this happening and when do I start looking for a lawyer when my union has told me to find my own lawyer I'm completely disabled I am in a wheelchair I'm very depressed my life has changed becoming disabled and now I can't afford what they're doing to me any information would be helpful thank you. Answer: I'm sorry to hear this is happening. In some cases, we are able to represent you for LTD disputes despite the fact that you’re in a union. It would depend on the wording of your Collective Agreement. Please give us a call at the number below so we can gather more information and let you know any next steps.
