Add Comment Question: My husband was recenylh diagnosed with Alzheimer's and receives LTD from insurance company. They want him to apply for CPPD and sent authorization form SC ISP-1606 with option 1 pre-checked (giving full access to gov files?) I am his caregiver/POA , want to change it to option 2 so insurance company only gets the financial offset data. If we submit the form with option 2 checked (which is to be returned to insurance company), can insurance company cut off or suspend LTD payments? Im terrified of a cutoff as I am caring for critically ill child. Thankyou Answer: They should not cut off his benefits because of this. As long as you cooperate with the process and inform the insurer of your status and intention to apply for the benefits, his LTD should continue as normal. If approved for CPPD, his benefits would be reduced by what CPPD pays him, however they still should not cut off his benefits while still unable to work.
