I have been diagnosed with CPTSD, anxiety depression and also suffer from fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease in my neck and back. They are making go through a vocational rehab program ( they call it acceptance and commitment therapy. I have expressed since the beginning that I agreed to try this treatment. I have expressed to the therapist every week how much I am struggling and my doctor has even wrote a letter explaining how the program is causing me extreme anxiety and worsening all of my symptoms overall. I have an appoint with another psychiatrist in January but I have been told I need to continue with the program until January 30 when we meet again. What would happen if I refused to take part in sessions until I see the doctors. Answer: We recommend that you follow your doctors recommendations and advice on your treatment program. The insurer should not be pushing you to participate in a program that negatively impacts your health, especially after your doctor clearly stated this. If your doctor has said that this isn't a good program for you and you shouldn't participate, then your insurer should be responsive to that.
