Add Comment Question: I've been disabled for over 7 years. I had a severe Stroke, Some person from my company HR called me and asked me for an updated medical report. I'm so sad by this.. . She wanted to know if I'm coming back to work.. It struck me kind of odd. I get support from nurses and p. .S .w .Not able to write a letter. Don't know why they are calling me. I think they're trying to terminate me.. If they do that I will lose my drug benefit coverage. I've been employed with them for a 25 years. Are there allowed to call me and ask for an update medical report? My LTD insurance doesn't call me. They get reports from my doctor no issue with them. This HR person keeps calling asking for medical updates.. Am I required to talk to this HR lady? Am I required to give her an update medical? Answer: I'm sorry to hear what you've been through. The employer is allowed to reach out for an update, and it should generally be provided, in writing. However, they are not allowed to request information regarding your private medical details.
