I’m currently on long term disability since 2014. My current employer is closing down my division, essentially terminating me. My question is the company has offered a severance package which is too small in my mind. Can my insurance company cut off my Ltd benefits seeing that I’ve been denied cpp disability? I’ve appealed it to its extent and they rendered a decision saying I don’t qualify. Can the insurance company cut me off?

They can try to cut you off but we would be able to help you if that happens. We should also discuss your severance. We can advise you if the severance is too low, and we can also help you figure out if your LTD insurer gets a credit for the severance. Please call or email me at my contact info below so we could discuss.
