In June 2018, I was let go from my job due to restructuring. In July 2018, I was diagnosed with a serious illness and went on STD and LTD and have been on disability ever since (based on my previous employment) with the support of my doctor. Out of the blue I had coffee with an old colleague, and he was very interested in me. He made me an offer in February 2020 for a new job after only one interview. My doctor says that he would still support me on disability however thanks that it is worth trying to go back to work since the offer came up. As per the terms of the severance contract from my previous employer, I am entitled to nine months of severance including health dental and pension benefits for a period of nine months once my LTD is completed. My LTD would end once I started a job. If I would accept the offer, I would only receive benefits after two months of employment which would be under great west life. My previous employer provided insurance benefits under Sun Life. If I were to accept the offer, I would assume that I could continue with the Sun Life benefits from the previous employer at least for the first two months at minimum until the new employer benefits kick in. Is that correct? As well, what happens after the two months are over, technically I would have coverage for benefits under both Sun Life and great west. Which benefits would apply? Would it be my choice as to which benefits I would use? Or could I pick and choose, which ever benefit is more beneficial for me? Thanks This is the second time I have submitted this question. Please respond

If you have to go back on LTD then you would be engaging the original policy under its recurrence clause.
