I'm currently on LTD and my insurer has requested previous employment history and a copy of my resume. They have not requested any information from my family physician regarding my current medical status. Why are they asking about my employment and not how I'm currently doing??

They are likely asking for this information because they are trying to figure out if you can do some other work other than your current occupation. This may be a sign that they intend to potentially cut off your benefits.
