I have LTD insurance. I am a full time employed Registered Dental Hygienist. I have not been working since March 14 due to Covid-19. My office is getting ready to rehire the hygienists whenever the government says we can return. My boss is not sure if it will be full time immediately or part time building up to full time. I have been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and have type 2 diabetes, making me immune compromised. I also take methotrexate which is an immune lowering drug. My boss is trying to get proper PPE but not sure if everything will be 100%. (ex: ventilation in rooms, disposable gowns/not available etc) I am terrified to return to work. At my age (60) and my health (immune compromised) I am at greater risk for becoming ill from Covid-19. With the aerosols in dental offices, that makes us high risk. Is there anything I can do to collect LTD or do I have to suck it up and go back? (probably July/August we think)

I understand your fear and trepidation at going back to work. Unfortunately you can only get LTD if you are disabled from working. You can’t get it as a precautionary measure because you don’t want to get sick.
