I was on LTD for 2 years and now my long term disability ended. I wanted to get back to work but instead they laid me off. They said they will issue Amy Record of Employment so I can be eligible for EI. However, I did it have income since I was on LTD for the last 2 years. Am I still eligible for EI.

Please call or email me ASAP as you have a serious matter we can help with. Your employer should not have laid you off and the fact that they did means that you are likely entitled to severance and possibly human rights damages. There is also the issue of LTD. If you are unable to work, your LTD should NOT have been cut off and we can help with that as well. It’s very important that we speak as soon as possible so that you know all of your legal options.
