Hi, I am on short-term disability. I got another job at different company. I am planning on quitting 3 work days before I start my new job. Is it okay to quit while on disability? My doctor has determined it is too much of a toxic work environment. I understand I cannot be paid by both companies. Do I have to take the severance pay? Once I stop working on Nov 25 and let my boss know on Nov 25, I assume my pay will stop as of that day? So that I can start my new job on Monday Nov 30th without any issues? Looking for an answer urgently, thank you!

If you quit your job you won’t be entitled to severance from the company you’re quitting. Also, if you quit, your STD may end at that point. Nothing stops you from quitting but it may affect your disability benefits.
