I am currently on LTD and a realtor before I went on LTD. My insurance company is asking me to repay them back the overpayment based on my earning while on LTD in the amount of 16K. I am not sure if they are calculating the overpayment correctly while taking my expenses into consideration. I am not sure if they are using pretax amount or net.

Your insurer has to follow what your LTD policy states. You can ask them, in writing, to provide you with a breakdown of the benefit calculation in accordance with your LTD policy provisions. This should outline everything they're doing and why, but if there are still further issues, you can reach out to our disability specialist, Rebecca, at rebecca.stap@stlawyers.ca for next steps
