I have been off work on long term disability (my disability benefits were discontinued in mid November and I have been without income since then) and have been trying to return to work for 6 months but they have been making things very difficult. My doctor has cleared me to return but my employer is not allowing me to return to my previous position which was full time and has instead offered me a position in a completely different department/program (the position is a temp full time that is currently available) I am worried they will use that as a way to terminate me later on. I am not interested in returning to a different position, what happens if I decline their return to work plan and they don’t allow me to have my previous job back then what happens. Am I able to collect severance, if so what would I be entitled to receive, I have been employed with this company for 21 yrs

This is actually an employment question, rather than an LTD question, so I recommend using our free employment questions website (www.terminationquestions.com) as a starting point.
